1982 diesel pickup

What's it worth? 127,xxx original miles floor pans have 12x6 holes on each side, frame is solid, thinking about buying and converting it to 4wd but the guy wants $2,500

I'm going to go with 500-$800 if it runs and drives good. It looks pretty crusty, its 2wd and I'm not sure but I don't think that engine was all that great. :dunno:

 Quick estimate if running and driving good... $800-$1000. The diesel was solid if it has the turbo.  Your basically buying the frame and motor so... What's it worth to you is the real question.

It has an L engine.  Some call it a 1L, but the first was just and L and the later series were 2L, 3L, 5L.  Absolutely gutless.  Kinda only good for saying you have a toyota diesel, though one in proper running order driven by a little old lady can get in the range of 50 mpg.

That said, I'd buy one for the right price and have looked at buying a few.  Most the time they're in much worse shape than reported or have other issues, the last having been hit straight in the side with extensive cab damage and a lost title by the ladies deceased dad at a towing yard
