1980 Toyota 4x4 Pickup Project
« on: Dec 02, 2016, 08:52:01 AM »
Good morning.. New to the site and first post. I have a 1980 Toyota 4x4 with a 20r engine that is going through some major changes. The body and frame are in excellent condition. Right now I am trying to install a 7" lift kit but ran into a snag. I am having a tough time trying to remove the pivot ball on the J-Arm so it can be flipped. I have read all over the intranet about how to do this but have yet to succeed. I have grind-ed down the mushroom end - used a 50ton press and it only budged about 1/8 of an inch and then stopped. I am trying to find someone with a bigger press but am having no luck..Does anyone know someone in the northeast (NY) that does this kind of work? any ideas?

Thanks,
Rob
