Would a 85 2wd pickup Transmission fit a 82 2wd pickup

 I believe 76-82 rwd trucks came with w50, 1985 is a w55 trans.the w50 is also shorter from the bellhousing face to the transmission mount than the later aluminium case W-series transmissions, despite using the same mount. I don't think it would be a direct swap, make take some fab work

the 1985 pickups used the w56 tranny..

The 4 wheel drive ones did. He was asking about a 2 wheel drive.
