Thanks Rockdiver, I got the aluminum off some old roof mounted water heaters that no longer worked. I got two 6x5 feet sheets. Its very thin around 2mm thick nice and light.  The door handle is holding them on right now. I am going to drill some small holes at the corners and get some sheet metal screws.  On the carb if you can when you tear it apart put the body into some sort of cleaner and let it sit. Then blow it out with compressed air. Should work great.
