I bought a truck and somebody put the timing chain on wrong with the cam gear off 180 degrees from the crank.  What should I do?

The valves are bent, pull head fix

valves are fine, fix timing chain

valves may/may not be fine, fix timing chain and see

valves may/may not be fine, pull head and fix everything

The graphite ones you speak of are the ones that've had all the issues over the years (and yes, it's been well documented), and the ones that look like a toyota gasket are the ones they developed after they removed their heads from their asses  :thumbs:
