From what ive been led to believe, the guys over in AUS. that are using the 1UZ feel they are getting 18-24 mpg(converted from KM/L) with 4x4/larger tires.
One of the appealing things about this conversion is that everything can stay stock, it purrs like a kitten, and gets great mileage with the power/weight ratios.
A Stand alone ECU is not needed unless your going for modded HP, and it adds to the bottom line $$. Stock ECU will run the engine as it did, and the 22RE/1UZ wire looms can be spliced together to work perfectly.
