don't steer it bump to bump. mine is the same way. if i remember right, the 89 to 95 steering boxes that have the allen head on top that you have to gut when doind hydro assist have more swing than the 86-88's. I might be wrong. but i'm pretty sure thats what it is. My steering box is off a 93 3.o 4runner and steers past my bumps, but i just always remember not to steer to where it hitsthe bumps.
