Any chance that it jumped a tooth on the timing chain? wait, that doesn't make sense since you drove it that one time.
I had a similar problem and I had accidentally knocked my Mass air sensor harness off the box just slightly and it did a similar trick. Do the simple stuff too--check all those vacuum lines and connectors. Check your timing if you can too--but this is a long shot.
