I managed to get the clutch in my 85 hot enough in the Golden Crack that I almost had to be pulled out of it backwards.  It acted funny the rest of the day but seemed fine after cooling off overnight and was still going strong several years later.  The crack was just too much for 32 inch tires and open differentials in a long wheelbase truck.

Is it possible that you're abusing the clutch and just wore it out?  I wouldn't be surprised by having issues with an OEM clutch with 35 inch tires, what gears do you have?
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.
