Pulled the oil pan tonight, found bits of timing chain guide and what used to be bearing material inside. Rad:


which looks a LOT like the first time I pulled the pan:




Apparently the #4 rod bearing was evicted without warning:


I'm hoping the journal will clean up with emery cloth:


Now I know how a lot of you feel... working in small spaces:


Tomorrow I'm getting rod bearings and stuff so we'll see what happens after that. I want to get steel chain guides to replace what's left of the plastic POSs that currently take up space on the engine.
