Not sure what you're planning on building your rig to do, but I'll tell you that the inline 6 that is in there is one of the best motors you can get. It is extremely reliable, easy to work on and gives you more torque than just about any other motor than a diesel. I had the same motor in my 72 FJ, and loved it. Lot's of people do small block chevy conversions, but not sure about the Tacoma motor. I'd stay away from the 3.0 you got in the other truck, and the head gaskets suck. Besides, the amount of gains for the amount of work involved, I think you'd be disappointed.

I bet you can rebuild the inline 6 and do the disk brake conversion for less than you'd spend doing the v6 conversion.
