I think Toyota put a stabilizer on there for a reason, I don't think it was for looks. Granted I do agree that if there is an underlying issue other than the stabilizer then he has a problem in another area. Since it seems that the stabilizer was damaged and it cured the issue I see no other issue. Wobble can occur when lifting, moving and adding suspension parts and is why the larger the tire the larger the stablizer. I understand that high steer systems tend to fix this issue which may have something to do with the push-pull steering. I'm glad that you found the issue that caused your wobble, don't worry about the nay-sayers on stabilizers.
