Removed mine as well along with the ABS and used the same proportioning valve as this

I'll make a smokin deal on mine if you are set on going that route. Nothing wrong with keeping it. I just subscribe to the KISS theory. Keep it simple stupid! thats why I removed the abs and valve.

When I removed mine The rear would lock up on icy roads easily. Rear brake wear also increased to a set of shoes per year. I bought a proportioning valve from summit  http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WIL-260-8419/?rtype=10 and it works great.
