Note - tinfoil actually amplifies the signal... You need a proper Faraday cage and anti-EM/RFI coated windows and walls to stop that stuff.

Anyways, my comment was that I'm betting on BP's stupidity and general ability to make anything and everything FUBAR the second they touch it. Conspiracy theories aren't always false, but if stupidity is also a possible reason, well, people being idiots is the correct answer 99% of the time.
