so I'm thinking of making my 2wd 5 lug taco 4wd. right now I'm just trying to collect parts for the build. money is tight so it will be a lengthy process. my build plan is to collect all the parts so i don't have a half done project sitting around. i want to keep it all yota so no wagoneer 44 in the front. i want to run 35" to 37" tires but keep its center of gravity low, so i was thinking of running fiber glass fenders since they are already on there. full cage all the way to the end of the bed so i can put two jump seats in the bed for the kids. so has anyone here converted a 5 lug taco yet? has anyone put a yota axle in a taco?

Yes, people have sased a 2wd Taco before and some have even used Toy axle's on then however the pickup truck ale is too narrow.  An FJ 80 axle would be great or even a diamond but you are on a tight budget.  Also, you would want to change that rear axle as well.  What year is this Taco?

Neat thing is you can put the front diff on either side and then you can choice what ever T-case you want.  Either right hand drop or left hand drop.  You'll need an adapter at the tranny unless you plan on swapping that too.

You've got alot of work in front of you but it can and has been done before.
