I am usually have my 4.7:1 case in for just cruising on the trail. Remember you have 5 (or maybe 4) gears you can pick from. The only time I use my 2.28:1 case is when they are both locked in, or in the mud/sand/dunes. I am going to do a 4.7:1 case in my DD/camping rig 4runner, it just makes wheeling WAY nicer.
