You should add a piece of 2x3 tubing to the back of your frame to box it in.  Then you can put the hangers on the very edge and not worry about it.  Actually if you do that, you could even hang them on the vertical part if you had to.  Just make sure that your front eye to center pin measurement (when flat) lines up with your front eye to bump stops (or where you plan to put them) measurement.
