Re: 84 reg cab in CO 2-18 frame rust from Hades

Started to clean off the frame last night, dropped the axle, took off the springs (now for sale), chopped off the spring and shackle mounts and thanked the gods at 3M for making cut-off discs that actually cut stuff off... instead of turning to dust after 5 minutes (crappy Home Depot discs...)
I set one Chevy spring on the axle just to see where it lands; I want to gain a few inches (ha ha) of wheelbase when this is done. From what I'e seen it looks like I should be able to stick the shackle mounts way at the end of the frame and that'll give me about 3" more wheelbase. I also noticed the shock mount (at the frame) was welded in crooked; it tilts forward about 30 degrees... but the bolt holes are drilled straight through.

Great...
