i think you have somethin confused. Stock birfields are 27 spline at the hub. The longs i have are just the chromoly birfield, and they are the 27 spline version so they will fit right in without having to replace the hub gears. When you buy a complete set of 30 spline longs you also have to buy 30 spline hub gears to use them. Also the ones i have are the older style so i dont know how strong they are compared to the new 27 spline longs.
Nope. YOU are confused.. STOCK= 30 spline at the hub, 27 spline at the birf and 30 spline at the diff.
27 spline longs are designed to fit onto your STOCK inners
The reason for the "30 spline" chromos from longfield is to keep them "warrantied"
IFS hubs are 27 spline and Bobby also sells a hub gear to make IFS hubs compatable with birfs (30 spline)
If you dont believe me check it out, I just slid a hub onto the diff side of my long inner axle which is 30 spline and then I counted them to double check
