I may have to rename this thread; working on a deal to get a built 84 regular cab truck this week... hopefully. It's got 4.11s and Detroits front and rear but I have that axle with the Lok-Rite and 5.29s.
Are Detroits better than Lok-Rites? Are the gears low enough to turn 37s easily? The truck also has a 4.7 Marlin kit; single t-case.

Toyota stock ratio's are 4.10's so it sounds like stock diff's with Detroits added. Yes, Detroits are stronger than Lockrites. Detroit lockers replace the stock carrier, Lockrite's use the stock carrier (like an Aussie locker or any other "lunchbox" locker). Since it's an 84, it's a 22R (carb'd). Stock gears, 37's, and a 22R is going to be slow and will be tough to drive over the mtn. passes to the trails. Good deal on the 4.7 case, you'll be able to turn the 37's in low range.
If you looking to get 2 rigs, this sounds like a good start.
