You're right. A quick check on fleeBay and they typically all turn at 2100 rpm. Another quick search and I see the York cranks out 7.3 CFM at 2000 rpm, but I think that was at 0psi. At any rate, thats good enough for me to save time and hook that sucker directly up to the output shaft on the winch motor rather than dealing with the gearing. Only thing is I wonder if the 4.5HP winch motor would be ok turning the compressor when directly hooked up.

Any idea how many amps a winch motor pulls?
