Ok so i tore it all apart and this it what i found. the air intake was caked with sludge, come to find out this motor spent the night upside down haha. there was about two cups full of sludge built up in the air intake housing!!! the pistons had sucked some of the sludge in and crystallized it on top of all the pistons, the valves have a lot of build up on them to. is it possible that the hardened sludge was built up enough on one of the pistons that it was hitting the head every stroke and making a knock. i did find that the timing chain guides had a little bit of play back and fourth, could the chain be hitting them at all and making a knocking noise? other wise everything looks like it should   :dunno:    thanks for all the help guys
