FYI if you are putting a new/different than original timing cover on, it is supposed to be decked with the block. If you are swapping the cover with the head on and the engine still in the vehicle then no big deal, but if you are rebuilding then you should deck it.
You can also have your original timing cover tig welded up, I've pulled 22R's apart and found welded covers.
