It's been almost ten days since my last progress report so I thought I would get caught up.
Ok I have been doing some wiring and gauge mounting waiting for some parts to come in. I have also been on call again last weekend and this week.
My exhaust stack and fuel pump came in today and I am hoping the parts from Marlin get here too. I plan to take off Friday morning to pick up the metal for the cage and frame. Yes boys and girls I said frame.
The frame on this is not up to the task and I figured why wait to do it after all the finish welding is done so I can spend more time cutting all the brackets off again.
I plan to use 2"x 4" 11 gauge square tube for the center frame and step down to 2"x3" square tube for the ends. I will need to make up a jig to bend the 2x3 to match the original. This will give me a semi stock looking frame that should be strong enough to take the punishment, plus I can use it to hold compressed air. I will post pictures later when there is somthing to show, but for now it all looks the same.
