OK let's get this out in the open, this is for my '69 Jeepster Commando (I don't know anything about Toyota's).   :sealed:

OK now that all the cards are on the table I need some advise.

My project Commando has a 225 V-6 engine and will be backed up with a SM420 tranny.  I will need a adapter to mate this to any transfer case I decide to run and I started to lean towards a Toy case because the adapter prices are about the same what ever my decision will be.   I would like to eventually evolve into a stacked system and what I have see so far from the older case iron x-cases doesn't look clean and very bulky also the cost looks to be outragous for these.
On the other hand:
The toy cases stacked look nice, clean, and seem to be a fraction of the cost. Also upgrades are just silly cheap compaired to my other jeeps stuff.

This is what I need advice on:

1)  My  :stopit: buddy's tell me that the toy cases won't hold up to the 225 buick engine (or the 4.3 EFI I plan to put in later on).  Is this true???

:hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :reg:

2) I won't be stacking the cases right away and need to know if I should pick up a turbo case now and a standard case later?  Or should it be the opposite?  A buddy can get me a 87' turbo case for $250.00, is that a good deal???

A little high unless it has LOW miles and you do not mind paying...

3) Upon doing a case search I am getting questions asked like:  Carb or EFI?  Model and year?  What is the best OEM for my search?

Top shifting, later model up to 88. i forget where but Big Mike posted a list of the t-cases and specs on this BB spline on the input does not matter if you are putting it behind a 420

4) One last question.  Are toy cases known to hang a litte low?  I saw the write-up with a toy case in a jeep and it looked a little low to me, is that just the down side to toy cases or was this set-up just not tucked up enough???

Well it is a custom install so you can do what you want. The stock crossmember on a pickup looks low but it is not the t-case.
