1) this is not true. A guy on here (brandon) is running a 300hp 5.0 with a granny low which puts a lot of torque on the rear tcase and it holds up the catch is 23 spline (turbo or other converted to 23 spline)
2)get the turbo but 250 sound pretty high to me like I said you could buy a non turbo and convert it also.
3)the best years are 84-88 EFI again even better is the turbo
4)I have never herd of them hanging low but I dont know everything
