New cat and muffler, timing is dead on.  Just seems to run hot.  Thanks for the info on the temp sending unit.  What i replaced was on the intake between 2 and 3 (i think) in the water path.  But not where you say it is, probably why the problem still exists.  Any easy way to reach it without a blow torch?  Does anyone know what normal water temp is for the 22RE?  That  would be real helpful.  Thanks again all!
