My exhaust header (4-1) on my Supercharged MR2 runs around 1400 degrees F.

I am not sure about stock manifolds...

I have not seen my headers glow red hot however.. But then again I have not jumped out of the car at night really quick after a quick run :~~:

FYI, if your EGR valve is plugged shut, your cylinder temps will be higher, if your timming is advanced to much causing predetonation, your temps will be higher, etc. Heck, even a plugged air filter will up your exhaust temps-
