So the R151 does bolt up at both ends :yesnod:  I checked out a tranny from behind a Turbo Diesel Toy, 1987 I think, :headscratch:  That tranny definitely does not bolt up to the 3.0 or 3.4 bellhousing though because I tried my template against front end of it and the trannies mating surface was smaller than my 3.0/3.4 template. :smack: Of course that bell is nfg to me, it's off a 4cyl diesel.
Does anyone know if this tranny from behind the diesel would be a R151 or a W56 HD :help:
Is a R150 from a 95+ stronger than the R151 :help: experienced tranny rebuilders please
If so I will bite the bullet and cut 1 1/16 of an inch off the engine end of the 3.4 bell and weld it to the 3.0 bell to compensate for the length difference,   and buy the adapter to mate the Gear drive TC adapter TC.  ;)
If the R151 is as strong I would need to find me one as this is obviously the easiest and posibly cheapest (less adapter plates) way to go :bolt:
