What fuel pump worked? Is yours EFI? I really want to do this. Any info would be appeciated. THANKS
Hey,

I used a 1991 rear tank from an F150. It had the 6cyl engine, and the pump works great. I thought my pump died the other week, but I pulled it out and it works like a charm (coil igniters... Terrible troubleshooting on my part...)

I'm not sure of the wiring colors, but there are four wires to work the pump and fuel gauge. I just followed the wires, did a little deducing, and figured it out. You can splice in a short section of 4-wire trailer wire. That keeps it pretty clean.

The fuel gauge will read backwards - empty will be full, vice versa. However, when I pulled the pump this last time I bent the arm 180*, so hopefully it will read correctly now. I haven't tried it out.

You will need some lengths of fuel line to splice from your hard line to the fuel sending and return. You'll also need to figure out a way to fill the tank. I just used some exhaust tubing to go from the factory fill to a modified inlet on the Ford tank. I cut up my Toyota tank's inlet and welded / soldered / JB welded it onto the Ford tank.

Read the pirate link posted earlier in this thread for more information. Also, look at the rest of the pictures in my photobucket to see how I mounted the tank. It makes use of the Ford factory straps, an additional rear crossmember, and some work coming off the factory round tube a little in front and above the rear axle.

You'll love this mod. One of my best mods to date!
