Put it in the rear(unless you have a powerhouse like glen) you'll be fine... my truck has been drove to Tellico 7 times 190 miles 1 way,and drove to every other trail I ride for 8 years with a welded diff. Only thing i would advise against is driving on snow/ice roads in 2wd.
