Re: running different gears
« on: Apr 09, 2009, 11:23:15 AM »
i have a question about this. Your saying i can just swap the ring gear on my 4.30's over to the 4.10's with out changing the pinions at all. I called the guy here that sets up my axles he said that i would need to swap both ring and pinion and that i cant mismatch gears. Also would i be able to use my 4.30 4 cylinder gear in a v6 housing on a detroit carrier?
Thanks,    Dillon

I believe what he means is pull the 4.30 RG and carrier out of the 4.30 third, remove the ring gear, and put the detroit and the 4.30 RG back into the 4.30 third.
