If you are going to cut your grill and push the winch, back close to the radiator to tuck it in you should put some kind of protection in front of the radiator. I made mine out of 1” x 1/8 flat-bar and some expanded metal. This way if the cable/rope is messed up on a pull your radiator is protected against damage, especially with cable... My winch sits about two inches off the radiator.
