don't do it to big of a gap between gears are you sas ed yet? and why would u want a taller gear any way

the reason is because i have an 86 runner with an automatic so i am pretty sure it has 4.30 gears and there is a guy selling a 4.10 third that has a detroit locker. I have no plans on modifying the vehicle other than installing a locker in the rear but am also going to swap in a manual transmission. I know my dad is running 5.38's in the rear and 5.29's up front and he hasnt had  a problem but thats not as big of a gap as a 4.10 and 4.30. Thanks for the input guys
