Re: First Build Ever!!!!
« on: Mar 11, 2009, 11:31:08 AM »
My friends brothers friend (if you can follow that haha)
has a 4 linked 4runner with a 14bolt rear and 60 front he blew the motor in and doesn't have money. But im new at this and i didnt consider the fact that the axle is modified for the 4 link.
And i'm a noob because it guess they arent tons they would be 3/4 ton right? or atleast the 60 is a 3/4.

I also found some built yota axles on CL and i was thinking about just buying those and swapping them in for mine and sellin the ones i got on my truck. But the guy had the front end welded and blew it up so idk if that would mess up the axle shafts????

Haha i'm jealous too, its my schools shop.
My goal in life is to have one just as nice or nicer when i grow up :)

And being president of the HS auto club has its benefits, like using the two post just to paint your bumper

A dana 60 front is 1 ton. 3/4 ton front in most cases is a d44. If it is a 60 how much does he want? If you think you are going to run 40"+ tires eventually get the 1 ton stuff now. It won't cost much more to build than your toyota axles and the 1 tons hold there value better.

The 4 link setup won't matter either use it or cut it off and weld on spring perches for your leafs.
The front is what is important as 14 bolts are a dime a dozen.
1uz-fe, 1 tons, 44" tsl
