Are the fronts preferable then to a 8"? The reason I'm asking is because I found some cheap.Also wondering about aftermarket.
My brother is thinking about using one. The ring and pinion would be much stronger than a mini and you can use 30 spline longs in them. You can get 4.88 and 5.29 gears and lockers for them. They are also 58.5" wide and would match an ifs rear without spacers. Before you buy do research on fine and coarse spline pinions. You want the fine spline ones which came in later models. These axles are very cheap were I live. If the set you're looking at is fine spline run the front and keep the third from the rear for a spare as it is the same as the front.
