I agree, under the bed is not a good place for removing the spare if you get a flat on the trail, street use is no problem. But when you carry a lot of  :pokinit: in the rig there's no better place.

My 35" spare fit under the bed with no real issues. The only thing I did was make a heat shield on my exhaust so the heat wouldn't do any damage to the spare since it was like 2 inches from the pipe. I had it under there on the way to the Rubicon and then before we hit the trail I fit it in the bed after leaving some things at my buddy's house in Tahoe.

Good thing too, cause I tore open a tire on the trail.  :thumbdown: It mighta sucked to pull it out from under the bed.  :cheese:  Thankfully, we weren't too far from camp when that happened and we didn't have to repack the entire load. We just kinda threw it back in there kinda loose like.  :gap:
