Its looking like my family and I might be roadtripping down to Monterey to see my sister for springbreak this year. I REALLY dont want to ride in the backseat of a subaru for 700+ miles so I am seriously thinking about driving my 83 down 
As I got to looking on google earth I thought how cool would it be to come check out the showroom and buy some stuff in person 
looks like its about 3 hours from Monterey to Fresno? This will be my 2nd roadtrip in my truck, we went to La pine Oregon over the summer and it did pretty good. Any suggestions other than a tune up before such a long trip?
