It could be that some moisture got into the IGN switch and lightly corroded the contacts, or some connectors. get a multi-meter and a wiring diagram, and start tracing the wires. Also, check your fuses, not necessarily for blown ones, but for corrosion on the blades. Sometimes it doesn't take very much corrosion to prevent current flow.
It ain't worth doin' if you don't have to clean up afterwards!

Build it, break it, fix it, repeat until your wallet is empty.
