Looks sweet! I love 22re-ed 2nd Gen Runners, especially those like yours with 90-91 "TOYOTA" truck grills!
You just don't see a lot of 2nd Gen 4Runners with 4cyl engines, and usually if you think you’ve spotted one, it is actually a 3VZE model with a missing “V6” grill badge.
Did yours come with a G58 tranny? I'd like to know if any 4cyl 5sp 2nd Gen Runners ever came with other trannies besides the G58, such as W56s.
My dad's 95 Runner came with the 26 spline G58; my 93 came with the same so I swapped it with an R151F in order to run gear-driven transfer cases. It's kind of a bummer not to have the W56 straight from the factory.
I used to have an automatic 1990 4cyl Runner that had an A340H (possibly
), which is the only stock, (non-ADD), 4cyl, 2nd Gen 4Runner that I have ever seen. Needless to say that set-up wasn't the beastiest performer at high elevations in Northern Arizona!
