Well since you asked, the reason Christmas is held on Dec. 25th was to appease the Pagans. The Roman Catholic Church was trying to get them to join them, so to settle the issues of when they celebrated the birth of Christ they moved the date from Jan. 7th to Dec. 25th. Pagan's celebrated the rebirth of the sun which was the shortest day of the year (winter soltace) they decorated trees, windows and homes to celibate this event and there was a guy named Chris Kringle that brought a present to children.
