i checked and the old bearing was the same height as the new, so i honed it out so it would slide on and off the pinion shaft. run out less than .002, set the back lash at .006 and checked the pattern.. battery died in my camera before i could take a shot of the other side of the ring gear. got to look at the book before i decide to change a shim or leave it alone. i think on the front diff the coast side is the most important.. what do you all think?
