ar15 chambered in .308 it can rock and roll and still bring down bigger game.

Excellent choice btw, and if I had one it'd probably replace my 788 as my first choice for the same reasons you and rs mentioned. I'm actually trying to motivate to sell off a couple of my wrecked street bikes so I can buy an ar10, or even an ar10 and ar15 while I still can!
