X2, distributor cap HAS to come off and get checked and dried out, as well as all the distributor electronics. Napa carries a spray for just this purpose, just can't remember what it's called. How long have you run it since? If it's in the carb it would have cleaned out after a few minutes at most. I'd also grab a can of HEET and poor it in the tank. It should help flush out any water that may be lingering in the float bowl if you somehow got some in there.
