well you could get a golf cart and charge it with sun or wind power 
It's not a matter of being able to walk anywhere in our tiny town. It is a matter of a very limited selection (or
no selection!) of just about anything you can name -- coupled with high prices for whatever you buy.
As an example, we have one grocery store. It's pretty good for a small town, but with no competition, you can guess at the prices.
Want to buy clothing? Bwahahahahaha!!!
And I refuse to take an electric golf cart to cut firewood...
I could go on, but you get the point.
