Unfortunately the military will flood the area with money, more than we would have brought into the area. When I lived off of George AFB the money flowed into the community from the Airforce not including the personnel either. That's why it hurts these areas when a base closes. I lived there for 10 years and when the base closed it just shook the city, they fixed the problem by turning all that housing outside of the base to section 8. I sold and moved so fast when they announced the closure, best thing I ever did.
