I am pretty sure that is a 22r in that link, you cannot do that with the 22re because you need the trap door AFM deal to still function that is on top of the air box.

Look at my diagram for a 22re. Here you see the factory set up in red. To do the snorkel, you block off the front air tube that goes into the bottom of the filter assembly. Seal it up good. Now cut a hole in the side of the lower half of the airbox for your snorkel. Intsall snorkel however you want. Put a cone filter at the top to keep stuff out. Keep factory filter in factory location. What this does is it allows the air to be filtered twice (the cleaner the better) and it allows you to keep the factory sensor on top of the air box. Now does this make sense?
