Just put it in 4hi and drive it with the hubs unlocked, that will do the drive side of the gear. After that put it in 2hi and drive with the hubs locked that will take care of the coast side. As far as the highway driving goes I would keep it 65 and below, you don't want to get it to hot without letting it cool down all the way a couple of times.
