   so but basically if i had another 85 t-case all i would really need to get is the adapter plate and i should be good to go except for modifying my drive shafts etc etc??,

It doesn't what year you have, as long as its a top shift.  The chain drive behind the v6 transmission will work, as well as the gear drive top shift.

Is the 90 4runner an auto?  4cyl. or 6cyl. ?  If its an auto, you're screwed.  If its a 4cyl, I think it'll work, not positive on whether its top or forward shift though.  if its 6cyl, it will work as well :thumbs:
