It would, and if you went with blocks, it would probably be your best option, but I'd still stay away from blocks.  If you really want to mess around some, you could find some old springs, and start mixing and matching the leafs.  Its a little more involved, but it could be a good option for you.  Junkyards always have springs that you could buy and play with.
